Primary and Secondary Armies
Return to Campaign Rules
Each player can bring as many armies as they want to the Nachmund Campaign but each player can only select one army to be their primary army. The primary army will be able to interact with all the campaign's custom mechanics but secondary armies will be more limited.
Primary and Secondary armies follow all the normal rules of Crusade narrative play found in various campaign books, codexes, etc. Primary armies can challenge for control of territories, create garrisons, and use auxiliary forces. They can subjugate, convert, and purge territories. They can act as allies to other armies, participate in Events, and trade Crusade Blessings. They gain titles and generate victory points for their Team.
Secondary armies can challenge for control of territories but have limitations. Secondary armies can oppose any other army's attempt to control territory. Secondary armies can only control territory for the purpose of converting or purging it. Territories converted by a secondary army do not grant Control Bonuses but do hinder other armies in their attempt to control the territory.
Secondary armies do create Garrisons to Convert and Purge but do not use Auxiliary Forces. They can act as allies to other armies, participate in Events, and trade Crusade Blessings (but since Secondary Armies do not gain Control Bonuses from controlling territory, they will have a more limited supply of Crusade Blessings). Secondary armies do not gain titles and generate victory points for their Team, but the support they can give to their allies and the damage they can do to their enemies will doubtless shape the fate of the Nachmund Sector.
